MADE09 Brighton Craft Fair 19th - 22nd November 2009

I’m going to be at the Brighton Craft Fair this year. I’m really pleased to get in as it’s a juried exhibition and it’s an honour to be selected from all the applications they must get. I’m going to be showing my reminiscence dresses and a new line, which I won’t reveal here. Hopefully with Christmas around the corner (yes, I said the ‘C’ word), I’ll get loads of people wanting to purchase gifts or commission pieces. I don’t know my stand number yet, but do come and see me!

Mint Tells Tales 16th July - 16th August 2009

I was asked by Lina Kanafani, founder and director of Mint, the amazing London shop, to exhibit my reminiscence dresses at the opening of their new premises. The exhibition was a promotional partnership with the Victoria and Albert Museum for their summer exhibition, ‘Telling Tales’. I’ve always loved Mint and it was great to finally get my stuff on their walls!

Affordable Art Fair 12th - 15th March 2009

Justin Hammond of My Life In Art gallery in London, came to my studio at home to have a look at my reminiscence dresses and invited me to show them at his gallery’s stand at the Spring Affordable Art Fair. How exciting!

I am a textile designer and workshop facilitator with a keen interest in alternative methods of printing and image transfer, with the emphasis on playfulness and experimentation. I like to work with layered textures, fabrics, papers and mediums. My present preoccupation is with my past and recording my early memories using photographic imagery and text on fabric. I also work with elders and those with learning difficulties or physical/medical limitations, to produce reminiscences and expressions of self that serve not only as works of art, but also as ‘journals’. I really hope you enjoy my blog and please check out my other websites too. You can contact me by email on BOTH these addresses: redallover75@hotmail.com AND seiwa@redallover.co.uk
